Proposals: Oculus Rift, HTC Vive

There’s already a proposal for a generic Virtual and Augmented Reality site. A specific device like the Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive would seem to be on topic there and could get its own tag if a more generic hardware doesn’t do.

Some questions that would be on topic on a dedicated site for a specific head-mounted display (HMD) may be (also) on topic on other existing or proposed sites, e.g. CAD, 3D Graphics, Computer Graphics, Hardware / Software recommendations, Game Dev, Gaming.

  • Thumbs up for generic VR/AR site. Thumbs down for a tag on the 3D Graphics site. Most of our users would be dismayed to see a hoard of "Oculus Rift not compatible with port blah..." questions. The closest to on topic here might be configuring VR/AR with on topic software. For example the hololens is going to have a maya integration, and questions regarding that might be topical here.
